LG Optimus Black This latest offering from LG is very stylish and comes with Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system. Its four-inch screen features the new Nova display technology for bright and better viewing. LG claims that this enables users to maintain visibility both indoors and in bright sunlight outdoors. Comes with dual camera (5MP) back and 2MP (front). Price: RM1,899.
4. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc This Gingerbread Android 2.3 phone features a 4.2-inch multi- touch display. It is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and features an 8.1 megapixel camera designed to work well in low light conditions through its f/2.4 apperture lens. For those who like slim phones, this should be an ideal choice, at only 8.7mm thick.Price: RM2,099. 5. Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 The three-inch touchscreen of the X8 Android multimedia smartphone lets you enjoy a perfect combination of entertainment and ease-of-use. It allows you to connect to the Internet through 3G or WiFi, type your messages on the virtual Qwerty keyboard and find your way with Google Maps and GPS. Offers 128MB of internal memory with microSD support up to 16GB. Price: RM899. 6. HTC Desire HD If you like a big screen phone, this is it. Its 4.3-inch touchscreen offers a better viewing experience when surfing the Web, playing games or doing office work. On top of that, it comes with Dolby Mobile and SRS virtual surround sound to make your websites, videos, music, games and apps rock. It has an internal storage of 1.5GB, microSD slot, 720p video and an 8MP camera. Price: RM2,299. 7.

To celebrate the arrival of their PlayStation Certified smartphone - the Xperia Play – into our country, Sony Ericsson has announced a tournament called PLAY for RM100K featuring Gameloft ’s Asphalt 6 . As the name implies, the tournament will be offering a huge reward of RM 100,000 to its champion; simply the biggest prize money ever offered in local competitive gaming event.

Open to Malaysian citizens aged 12 years old and above, the Sony Ericsson PLAY for RM100K journey will begin in Penang on 15 to 17 July before moving on to three more qualifiers stage in Melaka, Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur. The finals stages will then take place from August 6 to 7 at Sungei Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur.

While technically anybody can participate in the tournament, the RM 100,000 grand prize as well as RM 10,000 and RM 5,000 for first and second runner up respectively are ONLY eligible for the owners of official Sony Ericsson Xperia Play owners from local distributors. Else, the prizes will be REDUCED to 95% of their original value.

COMPETITION FORMAT

Qualifiers

- Top 15 lap times from the each qualifiers event proceed to quarter finals in Kuala Lumpur.

- Each participant is allowed to race only ONCE daily.

- Limited to 300 participants daily.

 

Quarter Finals

- Quarter finalists will be divided into group of six players.

- The race will be played in local network multiplayer mode.

- Winner of each race will proceed to Semi Finals.

 

Semi Finals

- Players will be divided into group of five players.

- The race will be played in local network multiplayer mode.

- 1st and 2nd place of each race will proceed to Grand Finals

 

Grand Finals

- The race will be in local network multiplayer mode.

- Top 3 racers will receive the prizes.

Sony Ericsson will provide Xperia Play for competition usage at all stage of the tournament.
