The story is the story of men killing each other with the occasional female male join in. build cities and plunder. Males build monuments, and then they crumble. How many of the wonders of the ancient world still? That the history of places like India and sub-Saharan Africa and America before the conquest is? What of Australia? Very little in the historical record.
Last night, while I try to sleep I tried to imagine what a his-story would be like. It is the story of everyday life for thousands of years for most.Occasionally, a Cleopatra, Queen Elizabeth or the first would show up and dazzle the world, but for the majority of women were treated as servants, domestic animals and farmers, taken for granted and gave little face time in the history of mankind. There is probably more treatises on farming and hunting over the centuries that books about women or by women.
The recent history since the Enlightenment, women were able to emerge from the background in the light of recorded history. The Bible and ancient mythology treat women better than most stories.At least in the world of myth, women had power, they were goddesses and human affairs have been transformed by their influence. In women the Bible but not often powerful figures, were really part of the action and at least the players were.
With the concept of matriarchal prehistory is out of favor among experts, and no real existing matriarchies, although there are some companies that have matriarchal tendencies, it is more an act of the will to create the image a world in which traditional values of women predominate. Part of the problem is to define what it is.Modern women would certainly not accept the traditional roles, at least a good percentage of them would not.
