Former Ohio State DE Mike Vrabel to Retire, Coach Buckeyes « Dawg ...
And here’s just what the doctor ordered: former Ohio State defensive end Mike Vrabel has retired after a 14-year NFL career to come back to Ohio State as an assistant coach. While his exact role is yet to be defined, it is thought that the two-time All-America selection could become the next linebackers coach.
During his career, Vrabel played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs, winning three Super Bowls with the Patriots and becoming an All-Pro in 2007. In addition to being a stalwart of the Patriots defense, Vrabel also lined up as a tight end in goal-line situations, catching a touchdown each in Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX.
This has to lift the spirits of Ohio State fans at least a little bit, right?
